Network ???

Network , what we all knows about network ? Well , here I'm going to share a little bit about network that I have learned from this semester at KMPh .

Well , from what I have learned network is a collection of computer and device that connected together via communication device and transmission media that allowing computers to shared resources . So meaning that  , with the network , we can share a lot of things to other users such as , sharing internet connection , sharing application software and other resouces .

Network , it has comunication device and transmission media . What is transmission media and communication device ? Here I want to explain what is the communication device and transmission media .

Comunication device is a hardware component that enables the computers to send or receives the data , instruction of information to and from one or more computers . Here this mean that commucation is a tools that can makes computer to sent or get a information , data and instruction either from or to one or more computers .

While transmission media is a material or substance that capable of carrying one or more signal in a communication channel . Which mean , transmission media can bring one or more signal (network) to communication channel  .

Communication device has 7 terms which is modem , switch , router , hub , wireless access point , network interface card (NIC) and repeater . 

Transmission media have 2 types that is wired or wireless . 

Wired which sent signal through a cable , wire or tangibles materials 

Wireless is sent signal through air or space .

Next stages is network basic is the design of computers , devices and media in a network . There is two type of network architecture  that is P2P ( peer to peer ) and Client Server .

P2P is a network which all the computer has equal responsibilities and capabilities , sharing hardware, data or information with other computer . 

Client server is a network which one or more computer act aas a server and other computer on network will request services from the server . 

Next , Network Topology : 

What is network topology ? network topology refers to the configuration of a network that consists of cables , computers ,and other peripherals . Its also describes the physical and logical layout of the network . 

what is a physical topology ?

Its is a configuration of cables , computer and other peripherals 

Logical topology refers to how signal travels along the physical path . 

For students information , network topology have 3 basic types of network :

1. Star topology
2. Bus topology
3. Ring topology                       

• Bus network

• Bus network consist of a signal central cable which all computer and other device is connect .
• Each devices connected to the cable through T- Connector 
• Then terminator will prevent the signal from bouncing back and forth on the bus cable . 

Ring Network

• Ring topology that is a cable form a closed loop with all computers and devices arranged along the ring .
